小林白兵衛・SHIROBEY KOBAYASHI

Profile
小林白兵衛 ・Shirobey Kobayashi
Shirobey Kobayashi was born on March 30, 1958, from peaches that fell from the mountains.
He dedicates his life to art and sublimates his day-to-day experience into his work.
Since his early twenties, he has traveled around the world for seven years, including Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
After his return, he moved to Mashiko to study ceramics on his own, built his own kiln becoming independent as a potter. Since then, he has held solo exhibitions every year in Tokyo and other parts of Japan.
Besides making pottery, he also works on architecture and furniture.
As a potter, the natural colors of the wood-fired kiln, the wonderful colors that cannot be achieved with ordinary glaze, and the things that cannot be imagined are produced. Through the challenges and failures, his joy comes from his fascinating work results, which is created by nature using humans' hands.
